Mixed Media Explorations
with Jean Pederson
Take risks and work beyond your traditional practice in this five-day summer workshop with Jean Pederson!
Explore new ways of combining mixed media while pursuing your own visual language. Focusing on water-soluble paints and mediums, you will experiment with how everything from gesso, acrylics, inks, mark-making tools, and collage can be integrated into a unique painting, creating a piece that showcases your own artistic statement.
Jean will show you techniques that can be applied to a variety of subject matter, styles, and surfaces. Emphasis will be placed on design and developing your individual style, and classwork will be part of the course.
In Full Bloom
If you’ve ever wanted to paint florals on large canvases with more freedom, confidence, and expressive energy, this workshop is for you.
In this vibrant 3-day abstract floral experience, Holly McWilliams will guide you through her signature course to painting large, loose florals filled with bold brushwork, dynamic colour, and playful mark making.
Through guided demonstrations, personal instruction, and Holly’s signature mix of encouragement, education, and playful chaos, you’ll learn how to simplify florals into powerful compositions full of movement, atmosphere, and YOU.
This workshop is all about painting BIG, letting go of perfection, and embracing expressive mark making without fear.
Open Studio
5 days with Jean Pederson
This 5-day course is intended for artists who have an established technical foundation and want a student-centred approach to learning.
With Jean Pederson, artists will have the opportunity to develop their own ideas and refine their personal language as it relates to their artwork. Jean will provide individual critique and supportive input to facilitate each student’s learning.
Group discussions will be encouraged and demonstrations will be integrated into the studio experience, offering opportunities to learn from both the instructor and fellow students. This is an ideal setting for artists looking to deepen their practice, gain fresh perspective, and move their work forward with intention.

Still Life: No Talent Required – Beginner Charcoal Drawing
Have you always wanted to try drawing but convinced yourself you “aren’t talented enough”? This class is for you. Welcome to No Talent Required — a fun, relaxed, beginner-friendly charcoal drawing workshop designed to help you let go of perfection, get a little messy, and discover just how creative you actually are.
Charcoal is one of the most forgiving and expressive art mediums out there. It blends beautifully, erases easily, and allows you to build drawings slowly through layers, shadows, highlights, and atmosphere. In other words… it’s basically the perfect medium for beginners.
In this charcoal still life class, we’ll be drawing one of Holly’s favourite little subjects — cherries. These tiny shiny fruits are absolutely perfect for learning how light moves across a rounded form and transforms something flat into something that feels beautifully dimensional and real. Together we’ll break down highlights, mid-tones, core shadows, reflected light, and cast shadows to truly understand how light behaves on a surface. You’ll learn how to create soft blends, dramatic contrast, and glowing highlights while building confidence with charcoal techniques in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
Abstract What You Love - Objects • Florals • Landscapes
with Nadine Johnson
This four-day workshop is all about transforming the things that inspire you into expressive abstract paintings.
Whether it’s a floral, a favourite object, or a landscape you hold close, we’ll explore how to break things down into colour, shape, and movement, and then build them back up through layering, collage, and mark-making.
Instead of focusing on finished pieces, we’ll spend our time exploring how to capture the essence of what you love in paint. You’ll discover fresh approaches, loosen up your process, and find new ways of expressing yourself through abstraction.
Unleash your inner artist! Beginners are welcome, no previous experience required, just a desire to paint, play, and try something new. In this workshop, there are no mistakes, only creative discoveries waiting to happen.

Landscape: No Talent Required – Beginner Charcoal Drawing
In this moody and atmospheric charcoal class, we’ll create a dramatic moonlit landscape filled with glowing light, soft foggy transitions, and silhouetted forest shapes.
This project is all about learning how to use charcoal to create atmosphere, depth, and emotion while exploring the beautiful relationship between light and dark.
You’ll practice blending techniques, layering values, lifting highlights, and creating soft glowing effects that make charcoal such a magical medium to work with.
Perfect for beginners, this class focuses on experimentation, creativity, and discovering that sometimes the most beautiful art comes from embracing the messiness of the process.
