For 25 years Ekaterina Pozdniakova has created numerous oil paintings in various styles; many have been sold to private collectors. Her talent has been recognized in Canada and abroad through her extensive exhibition history.
Ekaterina Pozdniakova has been teaching oil painting for 20 years.
Ekaterina (Katja) grew up in Moscow, Russia. After finishing high school, she studied for 5 years in the Art faculty of the Moscow Textile University and received her master’s degree in Fashion Design in 1981. She started working as a fashion designer with the Soviet National figure skating team and her designs were incorporated in the costumes of many world-renowned figure skaters.
Besides making costumes, Katja was always interested in painting and graphics. In 1991 she moved to Calgary, Canada with her husband and two daughters. In Canada she continued to work as a fashion designer and created her own label, Ekaterina’s Fashion. Her painting interests grew as well, and she continued to develop herself as a passionate oil painter.
