Laura Gerein

Calgary-based artist Laura Gerein is a self-taught watercolourist, with a background in cosmetology before shifting focus into the fine arts.

Born and raised in British Columbia, most of the inspiration for colour and simplicity have been heavily influenced by the coast and the multi-cultural surroundings of her home city.

The desire to see those influences reflected is a large part of her drive to futher pursue growing and creating in the field.

While watercolour has been the majority of her practice for the past five years, Laura also regularly paints in oil in a continuous effort to engage and immerse in the local art community.
