In this one-day workshop with Maxie Peña, you’ll learn how to prep and use calligraphy nibs, what straight and oblique pen holders are, and you’ll get to try different paper-ink-nib combinations to see what works best for you.

We’ll then go over writing basic strokes and drills to get you better acquainted with the pointed pen before going on to constructing letters. We’ll follow Roundhand as the main calligraphy style, also called as Copperplate or Engrosser’s Script.

All materials are included and you will get to take home your own pen holder, nib, a small ink jar, and some worksheets for you to continue your practice at home.
