Fridays, January 12 - March 23, 2018: Expanding Your Range as an Artist with DW Smith

Expanding your range 02
Throughout the series of classes, the focus will be “vibrance”, “impact”, “appeal” in your work, along with expanding  your range and exploring what could we can do together to achieve this.  Working with your own projects, we will take 20 minutes at the start of each session to discuss a particular aspect such as: simplifying the palette, composition and planning, importance of value, sketch, subject matter and the overall process. I will provide short demos (5-10 min) to assist in exploring the ideas. As I work in all mediums and mixed media, you will be able to use the media that you are most comfortable with and I will work individually with each student during the session. As some of you will know, painting is one of the great joys in my life and I hope to leave some of my excitement with you, so that you will feel inspired during each class.
