emerging artists
This three-hour studio class is tailored to the needs of your teen or emerging artist an their specific creative interests at all levels.  Budding artists will learn how to develop ideas from conceptualization to completed work.  Each class is balanced with coached art fundamentals and independent work.  Students will have fun working on wide ranging projects while being around other new artists in an inspiring, interactive, and exciting studio setting.

Skill Levels

Absolute Beginner:  You feel lost and uncomfortable in an art store but you are enthusiastic and willing to learn the basics.
Beginner:  You have basic drawing skills and some familiarity with a medium or mediums.
Intermediate:  You can draw well and you are very comfortable with your medium.   You understand the basic elements and principals of design (composition, value, and color).
Advanced:  You have excellent drawing skills and you are confident with your medium(s).
Professional:  You are a working artist

Please note – you will get the most out of art classes and workshops that are appropriate to your skill level.

Ongoing Sherry Telle Classes
This three-hour studio class is designed for beginner and intermediate level artists to learn and grow in their chosen discipline.  Sherry will give you individual guidance in exploring your own style, and will be teaching demos each week in a variety of mediums and techniques.  Expect to receive instruction and coaching tailored to you, as well as working time in a studio setting with other artists.  Join Sherry’s class and she’ll keep you motivated to create!

Techniques for board and canvas using matte medium, GAC 100, and glue.  Participants must provide their own board or canvas and collage papers.

Monday, August 28 - Friday, September 1 - Ancient Art Techniques with Liba Labik

Ancient Art Techniques Labik

Ancient techniques in art are in our modern world almost forgotten. Silverpoint (metal point) drawing, egg tempera and encaustic painting will be introduced and practiced in this workshop. Students will learn how to use silver point drawing and egg tempera painting on already specifically prepared supports for both techniques. How to use formulas and how to prepare surfaces for the metal point drawing and egg tempera will be included. Students will also learn about use of beeswax in art and about techniques in encaustic painting.

Students will be informed about the studio safety, how to make own encaustic medium, how to create mono prints & photo transfers and how to use hot wax in combination with other materials to create mixed media artwork. Experimenting will be highly encouraged. Students will have an opportunity to create their own artwork under Liba’s supervision or they will have an option to choose from projects that Liba will have available. Group demonstrations as well as demos adjusted for each student individually will be included. Friendly critiques will be an essential part of this workshop. This workshop is designed for students of all levels and experience. Students have to be min. 13 years old.
